A Battle-Tested Divorce Lawyer Who Fights For You
It’s not enough to hire an attorney who’s compassionate or who has extensive litigation experience. You need both. They need to be smart and able to serve as a diplomat, a master tactician, a strategic planner, a skilled investigator and a creative collaborator.
I’m attorney Martin Kofsky, founder of Kofsky Law Office, P.A.. My practice focuses on family law issues, including paternity, divorce and related issues such as alimony, equitable distribution, relocation, special needs children, and the preservation of marital assets such as real estate and corporations. My success in this area of the law comes from my ability to quickly understand the dynamics of a dispute and then bring it to closure using the right combination of finesse, aggressive representation, sound advice and counseling.
I don’t shy away from high-conflict divorce cases, whether the flashpoint in the divorce focuses on asset division, child custody, support issues, domestic abuse or other matters. At my firm, I settle when possible but am always ready for litigation when needed. It takes two parties to settle, and sometimes the other side simply isn’t interested or ready to settle. In that case, I lean upon my 29 years of experience as a lawyer, where I have worked as a litigator in private practice as well as a general counsel for large corporations. If a family law case requires litigation, I stand and fight for my clients with the tenacity and skill that are the hallmark of my success.

How I Provide Effective Family Law Services
I make myself accessible to my clients – once you and I are working together, you will have my cellphone number. I educate my clients about the intricacies of divorce law to help them better understand how the evidence they supply will be evaluated in court, as well as how it might be rebutted by their ex’s counsel. My goal is to work with you to build the strongest possible case. There are no second chances in divorce proceedings. I will make sure you can present your side of your case thoughtfully and forcefully.
I have developed relationships with top forensic accountants, valuation professionals, and tax advisers to provide my clients access to counsel on the various tax effects of the division and transfer of property between spouses, the valuation and transfer of business interests, the deductibility and taxation of spousal support payments, the allocation of interests in pension and profit-sharing plans, and dependency exceptions.
Divorce cases, particularly high-conflict cases, can be contentious and stressful. The stress of litigation and the potential to fracture already fragile relationships between the parties can take its toll on relationships between parents with young children, particularly if a case is mismanaged. My goal is to obtain the best and most reasonable result possible under the circumstances of my client’s case and protect the best interests of any minor children.
